Kuranda Roots is the tropical vibration mon!
Now in its 2nd huge year, the master crew of Kuranda Roots promise a splendid occaision of fine roots, dub, reggae, dancehall, electronica and soul, all in the lucsious surroundings of world heritage rainforest at Kuranda Amphitheatre (Tropical North Queensland).
Kuranda Roots strives to capture the true essence of Far North Queensland's true music and cultural roots, and mixes it with the best of International and National fare.
Over 15 International, National and local artists across 3 stages: a colourful blend of roots, dub, world beat, reggae, soul, funk, dancehall and electronica, will provide a unique and distinct musical experience in the rainforest.
And the directors have gone mad and are givin away a free festival cd (so stop those free downloads kids, this is legit) to the first 1000 peeps through the door, so be early.
This years funtastic line-up features 2 of Aotearoa's finest exports: legendary psychedelic afro-futuristic-roots act, and son of the one and only Taj Mahal, Olmecha Supreme, and arguably NZ's premier pioneer of Kiwi drum & bass, the wicked DJ and producer The Nomad.

Also gracing the stage will be Oz's finest roots exponents: Fyah Walk (Byron Bay), Zennith (Kuranda), Mistalaneous (Bris), Mystic Beats (Byron), Troy & Trevelyn’s Banawurun (Bris), I&I Tuala, Patch Up, Koahlition, Peepshow, Billy Dread, Emmaline, Sian, Quinzalez and Apex (Bris), Ombudsman, The Rude and more.
Yummy food, arts market ambience, diverse and contemporary programming, and a family friendly atmosphere has established Kuranda Roots as the ideal outdoor music event.
